Edge of Forever

Alone the demon stands at the edge,
the world behind him spins.
Embraced by naught but his own hands,
tears flowing down his chin.

He lifts his head towards the sky,
a question shining in his eyes.
"What crimes, oh Gods, comitted I,
for a fate like this to deserve?"

He turns his gaze back to the world,
and watch people spin in dance.
He wants so badly to join in,
and yet, on his own, he can't.

He seeks the face of another demon,
and longingly watches his master.
No action is he ever to take,
just pray and hint and wait.

Then sudently a hand reaches out,
and pulls him into the world.
Surpriced he looks up, a smile on his face,
his master has once more returned.

The master looks down at his lover,
a wicked grin on his face.
And once again dance with his lover,
the dance witch living is.

His lover leans into his embrace,
and a soft smile graces his face.
He finally belongs, and yet even more;
is happier now than ever before.

But when the magical night is over,
and the wonderful time has been spent.
The master once more leaves his lover,
broken and cold at the floor.

Alone the demon stands at the edge,
the world behind him spins.
Embraced by naught but his own hands,
waiting for his master again
